Twitter Amplify Links the Action on the TV Screen with What You See in a Tweet

Twitter has been bulking up on ad tools lately, especially in the TV department. The latest addition is Twitter Amplify. The idea is to link what people are seeing on screen with what they're seeing in Twitter, including the ads.

During live sports or TV shows, watchers may be able to get more content, watch instant replays and generally get a richer experience on Twitter in real time.

This, crucially for Twitter and TV channels alike means ads too, an ad on TV could have an interactive component on Twitter displayed at the very same time the ad is running.

Twitter has already been testing this type of interaction with a few partners, notably the NBA. Now it's expanding this to even more players.

"Today we?re announcing yet another wave of multi-screen partners, from television and beyond. Along with these new partners, we now have a name for this partnership program: Twitter Amplify," Twitter added.

The full list of new partners is available in the post, but you'll probably be seeing the results of the new partnerships on Twitter itself soon.
