We caught up with Lori Guzzard the Box Office Manager at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to ask for some inside scoop on Las Vegas for our readers.
Where do you like to stay in Las Vegas when you are in town?
I love staying at the Hard Rock. The HRH All suite tower rooms are amazing and the beds are absolutely to die for!
What do you find most unique about this town?
It?s the smallest big city. You can go anywhere and know someone. Plus every day is an adventure. You never know what you may see, hear, experience, and sometimes even smell.
Craziest Vegas Story you care to share?
I attended the premiere of Absinthe and ended up on stage with Frank Mir and the Gazillionaire. Let?s just say hilarity ensued and the newspapers definitely talked about it the next day! Absinthe makes us all crazy.
Where do you eat in Vegas at night?
Culinary Dropout inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is my all-time new favorite place. They have a very eclectic menu and $4 PBR?s. They know how to make a girl happy!
Best place to see the sexy people?
Depends on your definition of sexy, but I would say Hard Rock has all different kinds of sexy. From the sexy people heading to Vanity or the rock and roll people heading to one of our concerts, not mention the sexy pole dancers in the casino.
?What Vegas Tradition haven?t you done yet?
The Hoover Dam tour; I?ve been here 11 years and have only walked across it.
What is your best tip for tourists?
Check out the new Downtown. You still get cheap drinks and gambling, AND a whole new scene of great bars, lounges, and eating establishments exists for a completely different, and updated, Downtown Vegas experience.
What show have you seen in Las Vegas stands out in your memory and why?
I?m lucky enough to have seen numerous amazing shows in Vegas, but I would have to say watching Paul McCartney open The Joint in 2009. Not only is the man a legend, but he performed for 3 hours and gave it everything he had every minute on stage. Truly moving.
Where do you see the most art in Las Vegas?
First Friday! You get to experience so many different artists and mediums.
What is the best place to be single and mingle????
Strangely enough, Desert Breeze Park on Wednesday nights for KICKBALL! You get to meet a whole new group of people you wouldn?t typically meet on the Strip.
Hidden treasure in Las Vegas is?
Vinyl! More info about that below.
Time to plug, tell us about Vinyl:
Vinyl, the Hard Rock?s newest intimate live entertainment venue, made its debut in August 2012. Vinyl will deliver the iconic rock ?n? roll the Hard Rock Hotel is known for as well as feature jazz, blues, pop and even country. The multi-functional room, not only brings celebrities up-close-and-personal with their biggest fans but allows up-and-coming bands to come within arm?s reach of their loyal supporters and captures the interest of new ones.? The space can house up to 650 guests and is just shy of 7,000 square feet in size. Emanating a speakeasy atmosphere, Vinyl expresses an industrial look and feel, featuring Chicago-common brick and cinderblock, distressed wood floors and an exposed, sky-high ceiling.? In addition, guests can enjoy their favorite drinks and the stage action from the bar located along the perimeter of the venue. The impressive state-of-the-art entertainment system has high-definition screens that projects images and video on both sides of the main stage.
